Qualified graduates can apply for in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry around the world to over 200 jobs categories. These exciting careers will allow graduates to enter a worldwide industry. The world's single largest industry is the hospitality and tourism industry. It employs 10% of the world-wide labour force and is projected to grow at a rapid rate over the next several decades.
A common, but incorrect assumption is that the hospitality and tourism industry is a source of dead-end jobs. In the lodging industry, for example, over 20% of the jobs are management jobs. Human resource managers, sales managers, etc in the lodging industry earn salaries comparable to managers working similar jobs in other industries.
Our graduates will be prepared to pursue various business/management positions in the tourism industry, international hotels and in all sectors of the hospitality industry. They will also be equipped to pursue management positions in events, conference and conventions management and with government organizations that are involved in hotel and property administration as well as in tourism administration and planning.
Currently, over 600 million people a year travel abroad. In ten years, the projection is one billion international travelers. Graduates of Hospitality and Tourism programs will be in great demand in many areas of specialization.
Program Objectives
This program will give students in-depth knowledge of the management and operations of hotels; food and beverage service operations; and tourism operations. Students will acquire an understanding of how all of the hotel's divisions work together. They will learn management skills and will be able to work internationally, in a variety of positions in the tourism and hotel industry.
